Chair Man of MVP

Basantkumar Patil Y.R.Patil Kadamrikar, Belagavi, Pride of North Karnataka Film Industry

A thought came to me after I had recently finished writing the novel ‘Tyagashree’ about Sirasangi Lingaraja, who donated his everything for the sake of poor students. “Is there anyone like this now?’ That is. Then the sheets of Mr. Basant Kumar Patil’s introduction on the table caught my eye. Mr. Basantakumar Patil, who did not sacrifice his everything, donated large amounts for education, enlightened the lives of poor students, established several enterprises and provided generous sustenance to the many unemployed. But without paying attention to his charitable and entrepreneurial works, the fact that he was a film producer and actor did not come to light. This article is in the background of the intention to bring all his good deeds to light.

The magical world of film where you shoot in light and watch sitting in the dark is strange. If so many people come up here, so many people will act in 200 to 300 films, but they still don’t have their own home. Some others get crores in the name of fortune and become millionaires, pour lakhs into their bathroom and build a house like a palace. The audience is the God of those who appear on the silver screen, but the directors, producers, who have worked hard to create cinema for that silver screen.

Photographers also sometimes leave the supporting characters of the film as secondary. Mr. Basanthkumar Patil, who flourished as a leading actor on the silver screen in the 1970s, then as a producer, entrepreneur, social activist who mainly did social work, president of Film Producers Association, president of Film Academy, international, national and state awards, Mr. Basanthkumar Patil is a wonderful person. Along with his brief introduction, the purpose of this article is to introduce him who made his mark in the film industry of North Karnataka and the locations where he shot in North Karnataka.

As already mentioned, cinema is a magic city. While all the genres of this Mayanagara were frozen in South Karnataka and Bengaluru, very few talented people from North Karnataka shone with their hard talent that melted the barriers built by them. They are actor Anantnaga and actor, director, Sankaranaga who is not only a person of the film industry but also a Shakti as the founder of the company of Sankada Sound Printing Company, director and actor Girish Karnada, director Umesh Kulkarni, producer, director and actor Suresh Hebbikara, director Sunilkumar Desai, the lead actor and producer of this article. Mr. Patil’s combing. Basant Kumar Dr. It is a matter of pride for the people of Belgaum that Saraju Kotter also entered this arena through his novels and won the award.

However, it cannot be said that films are not shot in North Karnataka. North Karnataka is home to several kingdoms. Of course the emperors ruled and left behind many historical monuments. Important among these are the monuments at historical places like Hampi, Vijayapura, Gulbarga, Bidar, Banavasi, Halasi etc. Similarly, Dr. was filmed in Hubli. Rajkumar acted and sang ‘Huttifs Kannada nadalli nadalli ? The song is still hovering on the tongue of all Kannadigas. But the special thing is that Ellammana Savadatti is the taluk where most films are shot in North Karnataka. A total of 15 films were shot here and their details are as follows – Ellamma, Kitthura Chennamma Srirenukadevi Mahatma, Patala Mohini Harake, Shuklambharam, Neela, Srirama, Swami Sindura Lakshmana, Srirenukadevi, Sangolli Rayanna Nanna Guri, Kannadi Kannadi, a song scene from a film starring Ambareesha. There is also a lot of filming for television serials.

Fifteen films that I knew were shot in Savadatti and Taluk environment. But there are many undiscovered monuments and beautiful scenes of natural environment here. For example, Gavi Siddeshwara Gavi at Muragoda, nine-towered Mallikarjuna Temple, hilly surroundings at Parasagada and Sogala, Uttaravahini near Naviluthirtha Dam, Panchalingeshwar Temples at Hooli and Munavalli. Environment thus the list grows.

D. Puttanna Kanagal is remembered. It was reported in the newspapers that the film was shot in Dharwad, Dandeli, Ambika Nagar, Ganeshgudi, etc. in the middle of Dharani Mandal. Puttanna Kanagal, on his way from Dharwad to Savadatti, saw the Batta Bayalu area on the way and said, ‘Wide spread land, hills, beautiful place, I will shoot the next film here’. Perhaps if he had lived longer, a film like ‘Nagar Haavu’ – shot using Chitradurgadakote – would have been released in a savdatti environment.
